This video was my girlfriend’s idea. I was trying to think of some way to promote my site, DroppinShorts.com and she suggested giving money away in Times Square for New Years. So I wrote the site name on every dollar, we went to The Beatles Brunch, and I gave away TEN THOUSAND…. pennies… in the form of one dollar bills. It was a fun way to spend New Year’s Eve. Heather filmed it all. It was her first time running camera, and she did an awesome job.

The Messy Jessy name was a throwback to when I was playing music by myself, going by the name Mess. Also, I used to work at Caroline’s Comedy Club and my nickname there was Messy Jesse. The original idea was to do a silly Messy Jessy promotion for DroppinShorts every month for 2012. We only did 2 MJ videos, but I THINK I might be on point to release one video a month for this entire year… we’ll see… in the meantime…
